Cherry Mobile Flare gets lite and rainbow treatment for a colorful Christmas for budget price.

Flash Lite comes in bright colors with yellow, white, green, magenta, cyan, black, and red. Upfront is its "4 inch G+F Capacitive Screen" whatever that means. As it is Lite, it is powered by 1.2GHz Dual-Core Mediatek 6572 Processor with Mali 400 GPU accompanied by 512MB RAM and 4GB Internal Storage. Just entry level specs but on the flip side it runs Android KitKat 4.4.

Just the standard connectivity here with WiFi, Bluetooth and HSPA+ Data connectivity. For its camera, 5MP at the back with flash and 2MP front. It comes with modest 1300mAh battery so it should only be for moderate use to get trough the day or otherwise might get a powerbank for good measure.

It is said to be the cheapest Flare for only 2,699.

Cherry Mobile Amber

Cherry Mobile is on the roll right now. With Yuletide season coming and bonus flowing surely great way to start cashing in. However some may have far less budget then it is good to know that basic necessities come in the form of Cherry Mobile Amber.

The Amber kinda looks like a Nokia asha with regards to form and placement of capacitive keys. The device houses a 4 inch WVGA Display powered by Dual Core Processor with just 512MB RAM and 4GB Internal storage.You do have a dual camera with 5MP rear with LED Flash and 1.3MP front. Usual Connectivity at hand with WiFi, Bluetooth, and HSPA+. Overall Amber really does have decent specs and at 3,999 Pesos you get more than the feature phones offered at this price level.

Wait a minute, I am not finished yet.... The handset is i believe same as  Intex Cloud Y4. If this is true then its processor is Mediatek MT6572 with a Mali 400 GPU.

LG Philippines Officially Announces LG G Pro Lite

If you wanted the LG G Pro before but was taken a back by the price then the LG G Pro Lite is here.

To say it is just knock off of the LG G PRO where the Lite has the similar dimensions and looks with just a cutback on some hardware. The phablet houses a 5.5" IPS Display powered by modest Mediatek Dual-Core Processor coupled with a gig of RAM and 8GB of phone storage. This should provide a least decent level of performance.With regards to optics, it equipped with 8MP BSI primary camera and 1.3MP front. Dont you worry running out of juice with G PRO Lite cause it has retain the flagship's battery pack at 3140mAh. More importantly stylus is here to stay for the PRO executive feel. SRP is at 15,990.00 PHP

Kudos to LG for bringing out G PRO in Lite variant to say just another alternative product out in the marketplace. Then again looking at specs, seems local brands have already saturated the target market with more Mediatek-at-heart Quad-Core, better display handsets. LG is LG so even if I compare it is still Top manufacturer of mobile phones.

Lets start with Lenovo Ideatab A1000, it sports a 7 inch TFT at 600 x 1024 resolution with 170 ppi. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jellybean powered by 1.2GHz Dual-Core MediaTek MT8317T  Processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD. Fight: Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 Versus Cherry Mobile Blaze 2.0

This June mark the launch of Phablets from international brand Samsung, The Galaxy Mega 5.8 and from local brand Cherry Mobile, The Blaze 2.0. I believe these handsets have the same target market and will surely capture people that like BIG screens for function or play. So let us compare and see the best of both phones.

Samsung Mega 5.8 has a bigger screen by .1 at 540 x 960 but it is only at 190 ppi pixel density. Blaze2.0  with 5.7 inch HD IPS screen at 1280×720 fares better in terms of ppi at 2++ but as many viewers pointed out it houses on-screen buttons which is to say a waste of screen space. 190ppi vs 5.5 workable screen space

Let us examine next the heart of the phones-the CPU, Samsung is equipped with a Broadcom Dual Core chip clocked at 1.4GHz against Blaze2.0 Mediatek Quad Core at 1.2 Ghz. We don’t know why Samsung has chosen Broadcom (Maybe for Dual Sim Support) but it could have done a better job. Clearly Blaze 2.0 trumps the Mega and the same goes in terms of Graphic Card VideoCore IV vs PowerVR SGX544. On the positive note for Galaxy Mega 5.8, it has a bigger RAM and Internal storage than its competitor which makes it good for multitasking.

Next we look on photo and video capabilities, but since it has been recently release (no demo unit, or to say wala pang budget hahaha) I will leave picture quality and video quality comparison and proceed to just comparing the camera sensors and features. The Mega has 8MP rear camera and 1.9 MP Front capable of Dual shot and Dual video recording, Drama shot, Shot and sound. Blaze2.0 on the other hand has 12MP Rear and 3MP front enhance BSI technology which let you capture great picture even in low light conditions. Blaze has great camera sensor but Mega has the camera features. ****Update Blaze camera performance has been observed to be poor to average even in low light guess BSI technology is just a gimmick. see unboxph reviews here

The battery of both phones, 2600 mah vs 2500 mah Samsung has the upper hand. Honestly, Cherry Mobile track record with battery life of its handset is to say dismal.

Another thing to point out for which I have not included in the Specs fight are the other features. Blaze 2.0 does not fare well in this category but its Price would overshadow this criteria. Samsung Mega 5.8 is DLNA, USB-OTG and MHL capable for which No Cherry mobile handset ever has.

There surely it is an obvious winner in terms of bang-for-buck qualities, the  Cherry Mobile Blaze 2.0 great internals at only 9,499.00 against 19,000.00 Samsung Mega 5.8 (you pay for added features as well as brand name and aftersales). Cherry Mobile Blaze 2.0 surely deserves to be BIG. BIG on the Pocket, Small on the Wallet, Quad Core Phablet for the Masses.
