Microsoft Lumia 550 Budget LTE Windows 10 Smartphone Specs Price

Microsoft unveiled budget Lumia 550 last October 2015 and now is available locally!

The new Lumia 550 gets an 4.7 inch HD LCD Display and is powered by a Snpadragon 210 Quad-Core Processor with Adreno 304 GPU supported with 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage. Storage is expadable of course via Micro SD.

With the new chipset, LTE has been added to budget range of Windows Phones supporting LTE FDD networks with Band 1 (2100 MHz), Band 3 (1800 MHz), Band 7 (2600 MHz), Band 8 (900MHz), Band 20 (800MHz). Other connectivity features such as WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS is also available.

Camera-wised, it carries a 5MP rear camera with 1/4 sized sensor at f2.4 aperture supported with LED Flash (same as ones used in 535). For it front, you just get a 2MP at f2.8 aperture which is just pretty basic.

You do get Windows 10 as well as Microsoft services and apps that include Office and OneDrive Cloud Storage.

Battery is at 2100mAh with up to 17 hours talk time,  60 hours of music and 7 hours of video playback.

Priced at $139 and was said to come in December 2015 but it has now been spotted via Memoxpress for only 6,490 Pesos!

MyPhone Aqua Rio 2 and Aqua Rio 2 Lite Specs, Price, Philippines

MyPhone Rio 2 and Rio 2 Lite is now available and official!!!

MyPhone Rio 2 and Rio 2 Lite was first leaked before their launch by Ki Ri To, Facebook user posted via MyPhone Rio United Facebook Group.

The New Aqua Rio 2 runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop on a 5 inch HD IPS Full Laminated Display with Gorilla Glass 3 powered by 1.3GHz Quad-Core Processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage. Sadly it still makes use of the old Mediatek MT6582 Quad-Core Processor with Mali 400 MP2 GPU.

For camera it makes use of Sony Sensor for primary Rear at 8MP with LED Flash and 5MP Front Camera. Regular Connectivity is ensured such as WIFI, Bluetooth, GPS and HSPA+ for data connection.

That 2800mAh non-removable battery should give it more play time and usage.

Moving on to Aqua Rio 2 Lite which was first spotted via a banner of a retailer and that it would be on sale March 28, 2015.

MyPhone Aqua Rio 2 Lite runs also Android 5.0 Lollipop on a 4.5 inch IPS (NOT HD) Display. It is powered by same 1.3GHz Quad-Core Processor by Mediatek. For its optics it features a 8MP Rear Camera with Samsung Sensor and 2MP front camera. It will have the same connectivity features as Rio 2. It's SRP is at 4,599 Pesos.  Rio 2 Lite has 1GB RAM 8GB Internal Storage and 2200mAh Non-removable battery. Supports USB-OTG for hosting USB peripherals.

MyPhone is really banking on Rio popularity by introducing a slightly updated version in the form of Rio 2 and Rio 2 Lite with thinner profile, high mega pixel front camera, huge battery and the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. Then again as it is the 2nd iteration of Rio, we have expected to get new chipset or octa-core as to compete with its rival phones. There is always hope for MyPhone as will be expecting their infinity and ocean series if Rio 2 disappoints.

Both phones are now available via SM Cubao MyPhone and is said to be available tomorrow in selected MyPhone Dealers and Concept stores.

Mi Philippines has finally announce the arrival of Red 1S on September 4, 2014 via Lazada Philippines.

The Redmi 1S is dual sim/ dual standby unit at 4.7 IPS 720p HD IPS Display, this should provide a clear, vivid and detailed viewing pleasure with a 312ppi.

Powering the device is 1.6GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 MSM8228 Processor with Adreno 305 GPU. Chipset by Qualcomm delivers performance plus endurance without straining on battery life. The 1GB RAM and 8GB EMMC storage gives it ample memory and storage.

You wont be disappointed with its optical features with 8MP Back camera ƒ/2.2 aperture as well as 1.6MP front camera. Capture moments with Zero shutter lag and variety of modes including facee recognition and wide angle shots for selfies or group selfies.

Connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS plus HSPA+ data connectivity. USB-OTG is supported for hosting usb devices.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha Announced

Samsung announces its premium Galaxy Alpha.

Style. Slim. Metal. Sticking to S5 style and feel that retains its faux tactile soft back cover with curved corners plus a touch of metal for its frame, Samsung Galaxy Alpha is luxe in smartphone form.

The devices packs a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED with 720p HD Resolution powered by Exynos 5 Octa-Core Processor (1.8GHz Quad A15 Cortex Cores and 1.3GHz  Quad A7 Cortex Cores) coupled wiith 2GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage (No MicroSD Slot).

A 12MP back camera with LED Flash and 2.1 MP front serves its optical features. No word if ISOCELL is present though.

For its connectivity, it is equipped with Dual Band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac HT80 MIMO(2x2), Bluetooth 4.0 BLE / ANT+ and NFC. Long Term Evolution (LTE) is supported for its data connectivity.

Samsung TouchiWiz on Android 4.4.4 KitKat along with S-Apps and Ultra Saving Power Mode for that Samsung experience for this smartphone software. Other notable features such as fingerprint and heart rate sensor is also available.

The device measurements is at 132.4 x 65.5 x 6.7 mm and at only 115g, so thin and slim. Though to achieve this I guess they cut back on battery with only 1860mAh.

Overall, Samsung Galaxy Alpha is more a S5 mini or lite version. The metal frame accent is welcome to address the questionable plastic construction of Samsung devices. Exynos 5 Octa-Core for performance and energy efficiency and the latest connectivity features and sensors. However biggest worry would be that measly battery, guess it the sacrifice for beauty. It is timing for Samsung to announce Galaxy Alpha early, such that the new iPhone is just around the corner and so I think Alpha is designed to counter the next threat. For 29,990 well it surely is set to compete in terms of design and hardware.

Gionee Elife E7 Mini - Octa-Core 13MP Selfie SmartPhone

Gionee Philippines just announced via their Facebook - Gionee Elife E7 Mini.

By the looks of it, it appears to be rectangular plastic slab with rounded at the top and bottom. Seen also is a swivel camera that can easily turn to be use as rear or front camera. It has a 4.7 inch 720p HD IGZO (By Sharp) Display which gives you high pixel density, vivid colors, crisp image and text quality and great viewing angles.

It is a Mini but it packs a powerhouse of 1.7GHz Octa-Core Processor by Mediatek with Mali450-MP4 GPU. Memory is at 1GB RAM and comes with 16GB of Internal Storage but sadly NO microSD slot for storage expansion.

For its connectivity features, it is equipped with the regulars such as WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and HSPA+ data connectivity. It is a Dual-Sim Dual Standby Smartphone so you can have access to two networks.

Moving to software side of things, E7 Mini runs on Amigo 2.0 a customized version of Android 4.2 that makes use of only homescreen for displaying your contents/apps (yeah, more like iOS) and comes with tons of animations and transitions.

Main selling point is the Swivel 13MP Camera with LED Flash (like OPPO N1). With just a turn capture moments with great detail Back or Front. You are sure to get amazing selfies with this one as well as quality video-chats compared to other phones.

Battery is just only 2200mAh so with minimal use you get through the day or two but with moderate or heavy usage, might I suggest a powerbank.

To warp things up, the Elife E7 Mini is a great handy camera phone whether back or front you get the high pixel quality captures. Pocket-able and also powerful, a Bite Size Monster. Gionee really focused on riding the selfie revolution and it might succeed.

MyPhone Infinity Lite - Pocket Friendly HD Octa-Core

Infinity goes cheap... MyPhone brings out cheaper Octa-Core with Infinity Lite. Was expecting this from the get go with release of other brands (Arc Mobile Velocity, Cherry Mobile Magnum S) to compete growing Xiaomi threat.

The Infinity sports a respectable 4.7 inch 720p HD IPS Display, this size will ensure a very pocket-able device easy to carry around. Powered by 1.4GHz Octa-Core Mediatek MT6592M Processor and Mali450-MP4 GPU coupled with 1GB and 8GB Internal Storage, it wont be a push-over either. Running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, you have efficient and optimize OS.

Standard connectivity is assured with WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. Stable HSPA+/3G got your data-needs covered (network dependent).

With regards to optics, it features 8MP primary back camera and 5MP front camera. This setup should be decent enough for your regular captures and video recording plus very detailed selfies and video chats. Yet NO sign of LED Flash.

Battery life is just a measly 2000mAh. This is quite worrisome for it packs an HD display and octa-core which are power hungry. For not so heavy user, it will last the lay or two but for gamers might I suggest a powerbank.

We welcome MyPhone Inifinity Lite in the shift to more powerful phones at budget price. The Octa-Core Mediatek chipset is very capable running fluid Android KitKat experience and smooth gaming experience. HD quality screen is also another plus point for detailed viewing experience. 8MP is the next industry standard but that 5MP will surely boost its popularity amongst selfie-addicts. However, with so much powerful hardware that will be too much to handle for its low-capacity battery. Priced at 7,999.00, it should compete for the title of Octa-Core ng Bayan but with an early release and MyPhone popular branding it is king for now.

Antutu Score is Great and should be competitive with the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note (Not Enhanced). I have expected this much with Mediatek MT6592M with comparison to Lenovo A850+ with MT6592 that scored 28K. It may be Lite by name but still it is a powerhouse of a device.

It seems it also offered by another brand in the form of Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo A290.

The waterproof version of the LG Optimus G is now available in the Philippines - The LG Optimus GJ.

GJ share similar some innards and camera as the G. Sporting a 4.7 inch IPS LCD HD Display powered by 1.5GHz Quad-core Snapdragon S4 PRO with 2GB RAM and ample 16GB internal storage. Yes, the device houses a microsd card slot to expand storage needs. If thats not enough, you can always carry with you your files via USB Drive and use the OTG feature of the phone.

In terms of connectivity, LTE is missing but it is HSPA+ and the usual stuff WiFi, Bluetooth and etc. If you need a bigger screen you can connect it to your HD capable TV via MHL. Oh it packs a 13MP rear and a 1.3MP front camera. At 2280 mAh battery pack is sufficient that will last a day or two.

Most importantly, the main selling point the Optimus GJ is IPX7 certified which will enable you to use it in wet environment. Surf up and capture moments well up to 1 meters of water for 30 mins that is. Get that powerful, speedy, smooth Android experience even when under water. If you like the Optimus G and maybe a beach bum or surfer or just plain person who likes water then the LG Optimus GJ is for your.
