Starmobile Engage 10 Pro Windows 8.1 Tablet Laptop Hybrid

Posted via Starmobile Website their entry into the Windows universe - Starmobile Engage 10 Pro.

The Engage Pro really does look executive though still I am haunted by impression of Asus Transformer which I am using while writing this article.

The device comes with a 10.1 inch IPS Display with WXGA (1280 x 800) HD resolution powered by 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z3735F Baytrail-T with Intel HD Graphics for GPU coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage. Storage expansion can be done via microSD for up to 64GB.

Camera features a 5MP rear and 2MP front capable of video recording of 1080p@30fps Full HD.

For wireless connection and pairing WiFi and Bluetooth is available. I/O Ports Tablet include 3.5MM Audio Jack for audio, MiniHDMI for external display, Dedicated AC for charging, one MicroUSB and one Full Pledge USB 2.0 port. You do get a Keyboard Dock that will house another USB 2.0 port for added extra connection.

On the software side, it has Windows 8.1 pre-installed with 1 year subscription of Office 365.

The Engage Pro is quoted to 8 hours of Use Time with its 7500mAh Battery.

To conclude, seems local brands are entering the computing business dominated by International names with its own devices at very competitive price. The Starmobile Engage has similar hardware with its competition namely Cherry Mobile Shift but it main advantage is that it packs a bigger battery, equipped with full pledge USB and has low price for only 11,990.

Starmobile Play Club and Jump Max | Color and Power

Look what I found... Starmobile updates its entry level smartphones.

Lets start of with Starmobile Play Club. This smartphone brings style for the budget. For only 2,690 you get Android KitKat with customize-able themes that matches the pop of color of its case in red, blue, yellow and black. No word on display size. I have a feeling it will have 4 inch WVGA so that it will be easier to carry around or pocket-friendly. Under the hood, it has Dual Core Mediatek MT6572 Processor coupled with 512MB RAM and only 4GB Internal Storage. Just fixed focus camera here with 5MP Rear with LED Flash and VGA on the  Front. Quoted for up to 7 hours talk, up to 200 hours standby with its 1400mAh Battery.

Another entry level but packs power is Starmobile Jump Max. Go max with its huge battery of 3000mAh that will sure to get you through the day or two for up to 15 hours talk time and 400 hours standby time than other smartphones. It also runs Android 4.4 KitKat on a bigger display on 4.5 inch Display  with FWVGA resolution. It does have the same hardware as Play Club - Dual Core Mediatek, 512MB RAM / 4GB Internal Storage including Fixed Focus 5MP Rear and VGA front Camera. Priced for 3,690 pesos.

Both devices packs WiFi, Bluetooth , GPS and HSPA+ data connection.

Overall, both phones are entry level obviously pointed out by their specifications. Just targets value customers where price is driving force paired with either fashion / style or for the need of battery life. Takes cares the need but little of want.

Both should be locally available if not it is available

Starmobile Sky

Here is another affordable offer from Starmobile - the Sky... Talk about reach for the sky, well it is still earth level or to say entry level.

The Sky is the most cheapest KitKat so far at only 3,890 Pesos!

With its price range, the normal 4 incher specs.

To repeat it sports a 4 inch Display (WVGA for sure) powered by 1.3GHz Quad-Core Mediatek MT6582 Processor with Mali 400 MP2 GPU. For its memory is a 512MB RAM (bummer) and 4GB Internal Storage expandable via MicroSD.

Equipped with 8MP BSI Back camera with Flash and VGA front camera for its optical features.

For connectivity, you do get WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and HSPA+ connectivity.

Battery is at 1600mAh only.

To sum it all, KitKat at only 3,890 it's price and OS is the selling point. Smooth sailing performance is ensured with the Mediatek Processor even with 512MB RAM. 8MP BSI is still a point of contention where in the industry, interpolation or exaggeration is common. The new normal for entry level but wished they pack more RAM.

Starmobile Roar!!!

Starmobile R stands for Roar!!! Here's what it looks like. The Gold lining is very appealing but wished they applied it to the back housing.
The device will have 4.5 inch FWVGA Display and will be powered by 1.3GHz Mediatek 6582 Quad-Core Processor with Mali-400 GPU. Sadly only 512MB of RAM with 4GB Internal Storage that can be expanded via microSD slot.

For its camera, it does pack 8MP back camera with Flash and also have a 2MP Front camera. Though in the photos 5MP so it seems there's some magic interpolation going on.

Connectivity will be the regular WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and HSPA+ for data.

Battery is at only 1750mAh. You still get decent battery life considering the low resolution to work with.

Other features are Noise Cancellation, Wave Controls and it supports USB OTG. Additional features (ehem, bloatwares) like Clean Master, Pop Out Video, QR Scanner, Save Spirit, and among others.

Benchmarks courtesy of Facebook  User Jodi Perlta.
Big Shout out to the guys of Facebook Group Starmobile Roar (Official)

It cores 17K in Antutu... Not Bad, MT6582 is better chipset for entry level to midrange. Roar has only 2 touch points so if your into multi-touch games then this one is not for you.

As Starmobile puts it "Innovative features in a strikingly gorgeous handset." We must admit it does look good and packs additional features though at it's price 4,690.00, you might be swayed and see what the other brands offer at that price. RAM is major issue such that competition has 1GB against ROAR 512MB. But it runs on Android KitKat which is optimized to run on small amount of memory so still fluid and smooth but you may lag with more Apps running on the same time. Beauty is great but seems it has so-so intelligence to multitask. It's more a Growl than a Roar.

Starmobile Quest to Stardom?

Starmobile Q which stands for Quest. Starmobile boast features of their new device such as OGS, Noise Cancellation Technology, and Snapdragon Audio+ enhancement.

By the looks of it, construction is purely plastic cant say if the back will be matte or gloss. Only Black, White and Red Colors to choose from.

The Quest has a 4.5 inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) with OGS IPS LCD Display powered by 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 200 MSM8212 Processor - Adreno 302 GPU coupled with 1GB RAM and 4GB Internal Storage with MicroSD expansion slot. This chipset performs very well with Antutu ranging from 16000-19000.

Moving on to Camera, Starmobile gave Quest a whopping 12MP Sony Camera BSI Sensor with f2.0 aperture supported with LED Flash and 5MP Front with Toshiba sensor. It is Interpolated such that the said chipset only supports up to 8MP. It's main rival would be Cherry Mobile Flare S2. Would be nice to have a Camera Shootout showdown.

For connectivity, it has WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and HSPA+ data connectivity. Yes it will be a Dual-Sim device (MicroSim)

Battery is at 2000mAh and since it is a Snapdragon device then it will have Qualcomm Battery Guru Optimization Software built in.

Overall, the Quest is seeking to steal the limelight from barrage of Cherry Mobile devices. How will it fare with Cherry Mobile Flare S2 also packing Sony Sensor? Internal Specs and Price also comes close to the likes of Razor 2 and Omega Icon. Starmobile has placed features focused on display, sound, and camera to compete as their new Rising Star.

Starmobile Engage 7 Lite

Starmobile Engage 7 goes Lite... Entry level gets serious.

The new Engage 7 Lite runs on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean. It houses a  7 inch WSVGA (1024 x 600) Multitouch TFT Display powered by Rockchip RK3168 1.2GHz Dual Core Processor together with PowerVR SGX540 GPU. Memory is at 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD). I guess the word "Lite" is an understatement with decent hardware on board.

Only 2MP rear and VGA front fixed focus camera for optics and only WiFi for connectivity. This is where Starmobile made cuts to reduce price. On Flip side, it does support USB OTG and carries 3000mAh battery.

It does have a premium look to it with its metallic finish and its innards surely shines for budget tablet. Can't say anything much on optics and connectivity. But at 3,990.00 it is really worth considering for you first tablet or for playing with kids.
