Flash has been quiet for some time but apparently they are preparing something set to be release for the Christmas Season.
Our friends from GizGuide got some info and leaks and is said that Flash would set to unleash their new Flash 3 with 4 Cameras (2 x 13MP Rear, 8MP 5MP Front) as well as sporting 5.5 inch Full HD Display, Helio X20 Processor, 3GB RAM.
There was said leak benchmark of Flash 3 via GFXbench.com which seems to corroborate the new rumors. As per benchmark, it said to carry X20 Mediatek MT6797 Deca-Core Processor with Mali-T880 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB Internal Storage. Rear Camera is just 13MP though but Front Camera seems to be the Dual Camera setup with 5MP and 8MP.
Doing some digging the picture resembles of that of a TCL smartphone TCL 598. Sports the Quad Camera setup (13MP + 13MP Rear Camera; 8MP + 5MP Front Camera) and 5.5 inch Full HD IPS Display powered by Mediatek Helio X20 although this one has 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal storage. Has Fingerprint Sensor and carries battery at 3030mAh. Comes in Champagne Gold and Dark Grey.
Per Build Prop, CPU check, FUllh HD Check, and it seems Flash 3 will makes use of Sony IMX 258 sensor 13MP rear and Omnivision ov8865 for the 8MP Front Camera.

Here is my take on this, Flash may introduce two variants in the market with 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB Models just like they did on Flash Plus 2. With Quad Camera setup, this would be fitting to be the successor of mobigraph-centric Flash 2. I am curious what photography tricks this device would feature. Guessing it will be like that of Huawei P9 with depth of field mode and hopefully full manual camera controls. What you think?

Hi Geeks! We are pleased to have with us a Commercial Unit of Flash Plus 2.
We are presented with a Black Box with Flash Plus 2 Branding and a Heart. Opening the package we are greeted with the Front of Flash Plus 2. Setting the unit aside, we look into further and find manuals, warranty card and propriety data cable and charger. This is what we should be expecting to receive when we order. No More No Less.
Flash Plus 2 comes with metallic frame accented with chamfers on the sides. Comes with Removable Back Cover come in Venus Gold and Luna Silver with “Wire Drawing” finish for grand and elegant look although it is not purely metal but mixed with polycarbonate as to not hamper signal reception. It has an curved sides to provide better grip and with stamping of “Flash” Branding at the back. It is quite slim, handy and beautifully premium considering its budget price range.
Upfront lies a 5.5 inch Full HD Display with Dragontrail
Glass that delivers great viewing angles as well as clear and detailed viewing
experience enhanced with MiraVision 2.0 Technology. We found ourselves a clean stock Android Marshmallow with less bloatwares. Navigation
was a breeze and setting up the device was easy. It supports double tap gesture for turning on/off screen. Oh by the way, you can set default storage to external microSD and USB storage.
Flash Plus 2 is the cheapest smartphone packing Helio P10 in the market. It comes in two variants with 2GB RAM with 16GB Storage or 3GB RAM with 32GB Internal Storage. We had encountered a prototype during the launch and it scored 40K on Antutu but surprisingly with the commercial Unit it scored 42K nearing 43K mark. We notice it ran apps better and we had not encounter any lags with navigation.
Well let’s move on to Gaming Test. It ran Asphalt fine at High settings. We also tried Marvel Contest of Champions. Therefore should be able to run COC and other online games with ease as well as Heavy Games though we recommend tuning settings to medium or low if gameplay proves too much to handle. See for yourself. Please comment on the video as what you think of gameplay. Your feedback will be much appreciated by Flash. You would notice how sound quality from the Flash Plus 2 as its speaker is loud enough to hear game music and sound effects.
Flash Plus 2 comes with 13MP with OV13853 sensor at f/2.0 aperture primary rear camera with improved Auto-Focus as it features Mixed AF for more accurate focusing. Utilizes Dual Real-Tone LED Flash for more natural light support. For its Front, it features a 8MP Selfie camera with 84° wider-angle for wider selfie, great for group shots and supported by selfie flash for light support.
Camera focuses fast and colors are on point. As seen by samples below. This can be credited to the OmniVision Sensor as well as Mixed CAF and PDAF working together to target your subjects or between the foreground and the background. Shutter is responsive as you push the button, it take the shot at instant. You can take up to 20 shot through Burst mode by holding on the shutter button.

Oddly enough there were difference in what is stated on the specs sheet and on the exif of shots taken. As the
Rear camera is said to have an aperture of f/2.0 but samples exif indicate otherwise with an aperture of f/2.2. For the front camera, it should be 5MP but
we found out to be 8MP shots. Per Flash Community Architect, the aperture problem is said to be a software bug and will be corrected on next firmware update.

We tested out fingerprint sensor and it worked flawlessly.

use to launch a specific app like Facebook or camera. Quick access with a reaction time of .5 seconds and supports 360 degrees fingerprint detection. Supports up to Five
Fingers. It does not work while the phone is on standby though.

your waiting time and more usage. For 6,990 Pesos for the 2GB RAM variant, it’s
the best Flash has to offer for the Filipino Consumers. Budget but dang its worth

Flash “Life with Metal” Photography Campaign hints New Smartphone

Last month, Flash launched a “Life with Metal” photography campaign covering six countries: India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. It gained more than 2,000 pieces of photographs in only ten days and exceeded 160,000 clicks to their website. The photographers took photos of a variety of metal objects from rings, automobiles to an iron tower, revealing the art of life in the form of photography.
Notably, this event is not merely a photography campaign as it has sent hints that Flash is soon to launch a new product. For the competition, it is said that Flash is going to select 10 excellent photographs from each country that will be exhibited with signature of photographers during the new product launch event. The prize-winning photographers of every country will each get a new smart phone as a gift. What’s a product launch without a new phone to be announce right? It’s highly likely that a new product of Flash will make its debut very soon.

The Flash series had created phenomenal e-commerce success with sales craze in Southeast Asia, with enormous market potential and consumer needs: Flash Plus once set the record of selling out 100 units in one minute while Flash 2 became the sales champion of Southeast Asia’s largest e-commerce platform, Lazada for the same price range within one month of being placed in market.
Given such favorable market situation, Flash “strike while iron it is hot” to launch a new product.
With the theme of the photography competition - “Life with Metal”, it should suggest the new smartphone’s qualities –metal built with great camera optics? mobigraph has become a vital gene of the Flash series. Therefore, it can be reasonably said that the new product is highly probably to continue the photography DNA, with powerful photo-taking functions. While none of the three models of Flash has to do with metal, it is possible Flash wants to change that to provide a more premium built smartphone.
At the moment, Flash has not officially released any exact information about the new product. 2. This activity requires participants to submit original photos… Reproduced copy will be disqualified. Disclaimer: Non-original photos will be subject to infringement. The organizer does not assume any legal liability, and all legal responsibility will be bear by the participant.
3. All participants shall agree to display the photo globally for branding and marketing purposes by the organizer. Organizer shall be the representative for all interpretation.
4. All entries must not contain any pornographic, violence and objectionable content that will violate the country’s laws and morality. Otherwise, the organizers shall retain the right to disqualify any participant.
SELECTION:
1. Winners will be selected based on creativity based on the theme -“Life with Metal”
2. The “Likes” on the submission social platform will be one of the key criteria for winning selection.
3. 10 outstanding photos will be selected in each country to display on new Flash product conference exhibition. These photos will be presented along with the participant information in the exhibition.
4. Selected excellent winning artworks will receive a special customized gift from the organizer. The best Photo Award from each country will be rewarded with the latest Flash phone.
