HP Stream 7 Tablet and Stream 11 and 13 Notebooks Officially Launched!!!

Today at the Eastwood Mall, HP Philippines officially launch the “Stream” tablet and notebooks. The event held a fashion show as well as concept booth filled with beautiful models showcasing their new products HP Stream 7, Stream 11 and Stream 13.

The HP Stream 7 tablet was already covered by us when Villman announced the pre-order for the device see article here (HP Stream 7).

HP Stream 13
Moving on, we focus our attention to Stream notebooks with 11.6 inch and 13.3 inch models that’s comes in bright colors of Blue and Pink. The Stream has great look to it with matte-like finish accented by HP Logo on the front and dotted pattern inside. Sports a TN type of NON-TOUCH Display so if you are looking for touch screen, this may not be for you. Though I observed that even at HD, the quality is very low compared to IPS screen.

In terms of hardware, there is hardly a difference internally between the two as they are powered by 2.16GHz Intel Celeron Dual-Core N2840 with Intel HD Graphics supported by 2GB RAM and 32GB of Internal Storage (up to 17GB of free space available for user). Storage can be expanded as the 13 inch model having microSD slot while the 11 inch has SD slot. If you are wondering, it DOES NOT have an Optical Drive (CD/DVD). Both perform with slight hiccups when switching between Metro to Desktop, this might be because apps running in the background.

HP Stream 11
The chicklet keyboard is large enough that made typing easy but can’t say the same on touch pad as some touches and click weren’t recognized .

You also get HP TrueVision HD front-facing camera for taking decent selfies and accommodate video-chat.

To provide basic connectivity, WiFi and Bluetooth is readily available. I/O ports include USB 2.0, USB 3.0, HDMI, and Microphone/Headphone jack combo.

On the software side, it runs OEM Windows 8.1 with Bing and comes with 1TB of Microsoft One Drive Storage plus one year subscription of Office 365 Personal. With the announcement of Windows 10, HP Stream is upgradeable as long as you update it a year after the new OS has been release. Added HP propriety software including Recovery and Documents will help know about the device or restore to its original retail state.

Both notebooks are quoted for at least 6 hours of usage per HP Personnel.

HP Stream is priced for 13990 Pesos for 11 inch notebook while 15990 Pesos for the 13 incher.

To conclude, HP Philippines is focusing on bringing the basics in a fashionable way. The Stream falls in entry level category with consideration of its hardware and is just good for basic computing which is suited for students, young professionals and people with minimal needs. A combination of usability and style that compliments your life in one package – HP Stream.

Redfox Philippines unleashes it Wizpad Scribe series tablets! What's unique is that these tablets have digitizer pen which you could use for drawing, doodle-ing, painting or note taking, good for those with artistic and personalized needs.

The Tablets comes in 10 inch and 8 inch models with HD IPS LCD Display. Inside is a Intel Baytrail-T Z3735 Quad Core Processor supported by 2GB RAM and 32GB of Internal Storage. OS would leave less storage available and so the MicroSD expansion slot comes in handy.

With regards to I/O ports it features full size one USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 so you could just connect USB peripherals like keyboard, mouse, hard drive and among others. If you want to extend to an external display for playing games or watching movies, the mini HDMI should cover this need. Charging and power is through one micro USB port though I doubt if it can also host usb devices.

For connectivity, the regular WiFi and Bluetooth is present. The Wizpad Scribe tablets comes in 3G and LTE variants which is a first in the local tech scene. If you opt for the WiFi version you could just plug in a Broadband stick or for data on the go.

2MP front / 5MP rear camera combo for taking picture and videos including selfies and video-chats.

The 10 inch Wizpad Scribe comes with a Keyboard Case while for the 8 inch has a cover case, optional bluetooth keyboard is sold separately.

It runs Windows 8.1 with Bing and wiith Windows 10 announcement it will be upgradeable to the latest OS with no extra charge on the first year. Redfox Philippines is very generous too as they paired the tablet with Microsoft Office 365 Personal to complete that Windows experience.

Overall, Wizpad Scribe is very competitive line of tablets that offers complete Windows experience, extensive connection capabilities and digitizer pen for creatives at a reasonable price.

At its heart is Intel Atom Z3735 Bay Trail-T Processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB/64GB Storage options. Baytrail has come so far in terms of performance and energy efficiency and it can even handle some intensive apps and games that was once crashing horror on previous atoms. More storage is also provided with 115GB Microsoft OneDrive free for 2 years (15GB for life)
500GB ASUS WebStorage free for 2 years Cloud storage if not a Micro SD card slot SDXC that supports up to 64GB.

Two (2) 2W high-quality stereo speakers and High quality microphone serves its audio hardware. Front-facing camera caters to selfie and video-chat needs.

Oh to clarify, no touchscreens here it is just plain netbook that can be operated with the normal keyboard and touchpad only but I am quite sure Asus Smart Gesture is present for pleasant Windows 8.1 experience.

I am liking the track Asus is on with providing budget devices with quality hardware as well as a different unique experience. They also do a great job in terms of battery life and for this EeeBook X205TA it is quoted at 12 hours for web browsing that is.
