The Redmi 2 sports a 4.7 inch HD 720p fully laminated display by Sharp/AUO which should give you enough viewing detail at 319ppi. Internally, at its heart is a 64bit Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 Quad Core Processor clocked at 1.2GHz supported by 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. Storage can be expanded via microSD.
With a newer chipset, Redmi 2 has now faster data connection with LTE while still retaining the regulars as WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Beidou is now supported. USB OTG also expands it uses with the use of USB peripherals.
The 8MP still remains with Omnivision image sensor 5-element lens, f/2.2 aperture and 28mm wide-angle. Front camera has been upgraded though to 2MP.
Battery pack is now at 2200mAh.
It runs Android KitKat with Xiaomi own touch with its MIUI.
There is little difference from the previous Redmi 1S. Redmi 2 offers a slimmer and lighter profile with newer chipset and LTE. Though wished that Mi considered increasing RAM as competition is getting fiercer.
