A New Addition to Windows Alpha line up of Cherry Mobile is the Alpha Shift 2 in 1 Tablet Laptop Hybrid.
The Cherry Mobile Alpha Shift looks like an Asus Transformer with its aesthetics and how tablet snaps on and off its laptop dock. This is a different route compared to Alpha Morph, a tablet with keyboard case.
Got a chance to check the Alpha Shift out. The Tablet is grand with its matte brushed back but for its laptop dock, it feels flimsy and fragile due to not so good plastic construction.
The Tablet houses a 10.1 inches HD WXGA IPS Display. Processing unit is a Intel Atom Z3735F Quad-Core Baytrail Processor with HD Graphics paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage. Storage expansion can be done via MicroSD slot and with dock attached will grant additional HDD storage.
With regards to other features, it comes with the regular WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4 for connectivity and for ports a MicroUSB, MicroHDMI, 3.5mm Audio Jack (Tablet), and normal USB port (Dock). A front facing camera at 1.2MP will cater to your selfie and video chat needs. Comes with 6300mAh battery that can be charge via dedicated charging port.
Windows 8.1 Operating System is installed and comes with a subscription to Office 365 including 1TB of Cloud Storage.
Overall, Cherry Mobile on Windows is very promising, from mobile to computing it extends the company's portfolio. With the Alpha Shift, they took a steps forward in terms of design and functionality for only low price of 14,999. Hope to see more surprises from Philippines' Top Local Brand.
