Grab Philippines launches GrabPay Card, a digital-first prepaid card powered by Mastercard that extends GrabPay’s reach globally with unparalleled card security, hassle-free online payments and expanded rewards ecosystem to bring the convenience of cashless payments to more Filipinos. In a survey conducted by Mastercard in the Philippines in April 2020, 40% of Filipino consumers are now using contactless payments more often in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The introduction of the GrabPay Card in the Philippines supports Grab’s direction to promote safer payments by doubling down on cashless services that help curb the spread of the virus.

The GrabPay Card is made possible with Grab’s partnership with Mastercard that aims to bring financial inclusion to the millions of underbanked and unbanked in Southeast Asia.

GrabPay Card Features:

Pay for everything online. The GrabPay digital card expands Grab’s online merchant ecosystem, allowing users to transact securely and easily online at nearly 53 million merchants worldwide that accept Mastercard cards.

Safe and secure cashless payments. As a digital-first card, the GrabPay card details are stored securely within the Grab app. It has an in-app card lock function enabled by Face ID and fingerprint biometric security, and PIN-protection that allow users to instantly suspend payments in case of lost cards or suspicious transactions.

Earn GrabRewards. Users can earn GrabRewards points for transactions made in millions of merchant-partners that accept Mastercard.

Unique benefits for Users. Users get Mobile Protection Insurance allowing them to pay for mobile postpaid phone bills using the GrabPay Card and receive protection against accidental damage or theft. The card is also equipped with E-commerce protection that allows users to receive coverage for online transactions in the event that a wrong and/or defective item is delivered, and incomplete or non-delivery of the item.

Regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), GrabPay is a mobile wallet that can be used to transact within and outside the Grab app safely and securely. RCBC rolls out First Ever Online Foreign Exchange Platform

RCBC has just become the first bank in the country to offer an online foreign exchange platform, that allows their existing clients and account holders to buy and sell currency online.

The Online FX Trading Platform is currently the only foreign exchange execution platform in the country that can be accessed using the web, eliminating the need for face-to-face or over-the-phone transactions when exchanging foreign currency.

“The Online FX Trading Platform revolutionizes foreign exchange transactions for the country. Never before has a Philippine bank been able to provide their clients a platform that allows them to trade foreign currency at their own time and place.” Says Gil A. Buenaventura, RCBC President and CEO.”

This new product, developed by RCBC, allows the Bank clients to buy and sell their foreign currency at any given time from the safety of their own homes, or even from abroad via online.

“In taking out the need for face-to-face transactions, our clients are ensured greater ease in that they can buy and sell their foreign currencies without being restricted by geography.” Adds Chet Luy, RCBC Senior Executive Vice President and Group Head for Financial Advisory and Markets (Treasury and Wealth Management) Group.

To make use of this new product, RCBC clients have to simply enroll at least two different currency accounts with RCBC’s Online Banking platform. Once eligible, RCBC clients are free to buy and sell currency between their enrolled accounts. RCBC’s Online Foreign Exchange product can easily allow the buying and selling of all major currencies such as US Dollar, Euros, Great Britain Pound, Japanese Yen, Singaporean Dollar, among others, at very competitive rates

Available for 20 hours a day, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 AM the following day, except on weekends and Philippine holidays. Daily limit is at USD 10,000 or its equivalent while monthly limit is at USD 100,000 or its equivalent. It is on Web version of RCBC Online Banking.
