Cherry Mobile Omega Spectrum: HD and USB OTG ready

We got a glimpse of Cherry Mobile Spectrum from leaked photos giving us basic specification. Now we have photos of actual unit as well as benchmarks.

The device packs 5 inch HD (1280 × 720 pixels) Display with a Dragontrail Glass Protection. I must note that on the front it just says HD LCD only but on their promotional banner it says IPS (will get an update on this).

Moving on, at its heart is a Broadcom BC23550 Quad-Core Processor which means Videocore IV HW for its graphic card. To compliment its SOC, comes a 4GB internal storage and 1GB RAM. See Benchmark for reference.

In terms of carmera features, it packs a 8MP primary snapper with LED Flash and for its camera it has a 2MP (well its 2 when you round off 1.9MP)

WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and HSPA+ is on board so connectivity is covered. Another plus is the USB OTG that will supporting hosting USB devices. It's also Miracast ready so extending your screen towards another supported display. Battery is at 2000mAh.

To wrap up, the Cherry Mobile Omega Spectrum brings a lot to the table with a better display together with the basic connectivity and decent camera features at only 4,999.00. Broadcom chips also played its part with Quad-Core and OTG at entry level prices. Mediatek should be worried.

Cherry Mobile Urban, Omega Spectrum and Omega Aeon

Cherry Mobile is gearing up for another set of smartphones. Found some pic flooding Facebook of their new units called, The Urban, Omega Spectrum and Omega Aeon.

Lets start with the Urban selling at only 4,699. Its sports a 4.5 inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) IPS LCD Display powered by 1.3GHz Quad-Core Processor (Mediatek 6582 me thinks) that comes with 4GB Internal Storage and 1GB RAM. It also packs 8MP rear camera (W/ Flash see pic) annd 2MP front camera. For Connectivity, it features WiFi, Bluetooth and HSPA+. This device is Dual-Sim and runs Android KitKat 4.4.

On to Omega Spectrum that has a price tag of 4,999.00. Comes with a better display at 5 inch with HD resolution (1280 × 720 pixels) IPS but can't say much about the processor with 1.2GHz Quad (Broadcom BCM23550?). Storage and RAM is same with above 4GB/1GB and with regards to camera 8MP with Flash / 2MP Front as well as higher probability of having same kind of connectivity with WiFi/Bluetooth/HSPA+. On the upside, it supports USB OTG so that might attract some attention.

Finally ending with Omega Aeon at 5,999. To say it just a slight upgrade to Spectrum, also offering 5 inch HD IPS with just added OGS technology. It is said to run 1.2GHz Quad-Core Processor with 4GB of internal storage and 1GB RAM. It might also gets basic connectivity functions such as WiFi/Bluetoot/GPS/HSPA+. It's main selling point is its camera features with 13MP primary snapper with Flash and 5MP front camera.

Seems it will be an interesting Fiesta with Cherry Mobile coming days. Lets keep our eyes open for more units ehem octa-core...
