Vewd x Realtek Partnership for better Android TV-based chipsets

Vewd, the world’s largest independent provider of OTT software, today announced partnership with Realtek, one of the world’s leading semiconductor vendors, and will pre-integrate Vewd’s signature smart TV technology and essential modules with their Android TV-based chipsets. These include Vewd Core, the leading independent HTML5 SDK for connected TV devices, and essential Core modules, including the hybrid TV module, standalone media player, and Freeview Play support module.



More than 80% of the world’s Android TV-based smart TVs already ship comes with Vewd software. World-class support for key hybrid TV technologies, including HbbTV 2, make Vewd Core the perfect complement to Android TV.

Vewd is one of the leading enablers of hybrid TV. Vewd’s implementation of HbbTV 2.0.1 has been named “Best Multiscreen HbbTV Service” by the HbbTV Association. Vewd was one of the key partners powering the first launch of an ATSC 3.0-based service in the U.S. in 2018.
