Spotted: HP Slate 6 Voice Tab

Coming from the failure of WebOS under its wing, here's another try by Hewlett Packard (HP) to enter mobile market with its Phablet offering the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab.

A cross between phone and tablet experience with its 6 inch HD (1280 x720 pixels) IPS Display powered by 1.2GHz Quad-Core Processor Marvell PXA1088 with Vivante GC1000 GPU. Supported by 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable via MicroSD up to 64GB). Though its Quad-Core, Marvell still has not proven to compete with Snapdragon nor Mediatek chips and same goes with GPU.

Moving on, it packs a 5MP auto-focus back camera that comes with LED Flash. It is also equipped with 2MP front for selfies and video chats.

In terms of connectivity, its equipped with just your regular WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS but it does have HSPA+ for data connectivity. Battery is very adequate with a 3000mAh energy pack on board.

Like i said above it is a Phablet so it does have Phone and Messaging functionality. It runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean by the way. Priced at 14,990.00

Final thoughts on the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab, is this trying? Seriously even with the HP name it is not par with the competition. Sure it does have a 6 inch HD Display and Huge battery but it fairs less in terms of processor, graphics and connectivity. Hopefully they could up their game a few upgrades and features (ehem USB-OTG) would be nice next time.
