Game of Drones Contest 2nd Flight - Time Trial, Rotorcross and Drone Photography

Exciting exhibition this summer? Check out Game of Drones: 2nd Flight at Circulo Verde this May 26, 2018! Join in or cheer for your favorite high-flying team and watch as the drones compete through time trial, sprint, and a battle for supremacy at the rotorcross finals.

Participants may pre-register by visiting http://bit.do/GameofDrones. The sign-up period started last April 1, 2018 and closes 12 midnight of May 25, 2018. There will be a P1,000 Registration Fee per Category, inclusive of the Game of Drones Kit containing a Pilot Shirt and other freebies. Categories are Time Trial, Rotocross, and Drone Photography.

For Time Trial, a spec/open class category, the winner who will successfully fly their drone on the 300-meter track for one lap within the shortest time will get to take home a cash prize of P30,000. 

Rotocross, a spec class game, participants that will be grouped into batches of four wave to fly their drones through a marked course. The winner will receive P20,000 plus Premium Items from Sponsors!

Lastly, the entries for the Drone Photography contest must be of aerial drone photos taken within the Circulo Verde vicinity. This is the only game without a registration fee, and Interested parties would fill out the online form at http://bit.do/GameofDrones and email their entries to gameofdrones208@gmail.com in high-resolution format, no later than 12 midnight of May 23, 2018. Each submission must include the name of the photographer, the title of the photograph, as well as the model of the drone used. The top 10 entries will be announced via e-mail on May 25, and the winners will be announced during the Game of Drones event.

There will be food stalls and sponsored booths to alleviate the experience. Hobbyists, enthusiasts, novice racers, and anyone who is up for a day of fun are welcome!

DJI Zenmuse X7 Camera to Support Apple ProRes RAW and 14-bit Recording

DJI has updated its Zenmuse X7 camera to support the new ProRes RAW standard from Apple. The new firmware updates lets the Zenmuse X7 gain performance enhancements that deliver improved workflows and image quality. These new features increase the power and efficiency of the Zenmuse X7 and so reinforcing its role in professional filmmaking as the World’s First Super35 Digital Camera designed for aerial cinematography. 

The firmware updates include:

• Apple ProRes RAW Support: A free update for users with the RAW activation package for Inspire 2, ProRes RAW offers the quality and workflow advantages of RAW with the incredible performance of ProRes.
• 14-bit Recording: Newly added 14-bit RAW recording mode enables the Zenmuse X7 to capture cleaner scenes with less noise, delivering smoother tones and color transitions while preserving significant detail in both shadows and highlights.
• Faster and Lighter Workflow: Enhanced data processing performance makes the Zenmuse X7 more nimble and capable with improvements to its file system and broader operating system compatibility.

With the RAW activation package, ProRes RAW files are recorded natively in the Inspire 2/Zenmuse X7 and can be transferred directly to Final Cut Pro X for post-production. And ProRes RAW preserves image quality while maintaining smaller file sizes, allowing filmmakers to archive their footage with confidence.

14-Bit Recording
The new firmware allows filmmakers to record 14-bit CinemaDNG at 6K 23.976 fps, capturing less noise, smoother color transitions and tones while preserving significant detail in both shadows and highlights. With an increase to bit depth recording per pixel that improves overall image quality, filmmakers can rely on the Zenmuse X7 as a significant tool on set, capable of delivering high quality footage even in difficult lighting situations.


Faster and Lighter Workflow
A lighter and more agile data processing system makes the Zenmuse X7 easier to implement into the set as a valuable tool. As resolution and duration of recording increases the overall file sizes created, the Zenmuse X7 data system has been adapted to manage and process this information more efficiently utilizing the exFAT file system. The newly added format allows larger recordings of up to 32GB to be saved in one single file, streamlining the workflow by eliminating the need to merge smaller files in post processing. The exFAT format not only improves data management but also offers a wider compatibility among macOS and Windows operating systems.

The first firmware update offers 14-bit CinemaDNG recording and will be available in late April 2018. A second firmware update offering Apple ProRes RAW support and the newly added exFAT file system will be available in late May 2018. ASUS Republic Of Gamers Brings Next Generation ROG Chimera, ROG Zephyrus, ROG Strix Series and New ROG Zephyrus M and TUF Gaming Series.

Manila, Philippines – April 3, 2018 – ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) in a closed event today unveiled an 8th generation Intel Core Processor refresh for its entire line up equipped with Quad and Hexa-Core processors and 120hz and 144hz response rates visuals across the entire gaming range.

New Intel Powerful Processors
Intel brings new generation of computing processors updating their iCore lineup with more cores, threads and feaures. The 8th generation Core i5-8300H now features 8 threads and now with hyper threading. The 8th Generation Core i7 processor, meanwhile, get its core count up to 6 cores and it’s thread count to 12 for a performance boost of over 23%, in the form of the I7-8850H. Lastly, the latest Core i9-8950HK Mobile Processor was also announced with a amazing 4.8 ghz single core boost speed and 12MB of L3 Cache for those who want more power in their devices. For their product range, ASUS announced a new ROG Zephyrus M laptop alongside the new Asus TUF Gaming FX series. ROG Chimera G703

The New ROG Chimera G703 features the same most-loved bio-armor cutting-edge design with quad-vents and now will have top notch processors making use of up to a Core i9-8950HK coupled with abundant resources at 64GB RAM, 2TB HDD plus 512GB of PCIEx4 NVME SSD and a discrete Nvidia Geforce GTX1080 with 8GB DDR5X VRAM.
