Computex 2018 Asus Republic of Gamers outs eSports Laptops SCAR II AND HERO II

Gamer Geeks! Asus Republic of Gamers give us more excitement as they introduce next generation Strix Laptops now Scar II and Hero II for Computex 2018!

As usual, ROG does not disappoints interms of design with narrow-bezel design with slim frame. This gives a more immersive experience for gaming as well as expansive visuals. Houses a 15.6" IPS-type FHD (1920 x 1080) with 100% sRGB for rich viewing pleasure. 144Hz refresh rate with 3ms GtG response time bring games to life with smoothness and clarity. The higher refresh rate enables a true 144-FPS experience with minimal input lag, while the faster response reduces ghosting and blurring to produce a clearer picture.

Powered by Intel six-core Coffee Lake  i7-8750H / i5-8300H processors matched with Pascal-based discrete graphics or get the ones with NVIDIA 10-series GeForce GTX graphics ensures top-notch performance that for sure can play popular esports titles in triple-digit frame rates.  You can equip a GTX 1070 if your still need more.

With powerful internals, heat management is needed. Heat pipes transfer thermal energy from the CPU and GPU to radiators on the perimeter of the chassis. The metal heat spreaders allows the cooling system to dissipate thermals from additional components. There are also dual blowers force air over the radiators and out of the chassis.

Even with their portable size, Strix Scar II and Hero II packs full-size keyboard and an accompanying numpad for seamless transition when playing from desktops to laptops. The Keyboard is fortified for gaming with a lifespan of 20 million key presses that can withstand your gaming sessions. Improved keyboard lighting extends across four distinct keyboard zones.

RGB illumination amped upeven more with an additional light bar on the front edge and a more imposing ROG logo. Who can forget about Aura Sync, coordinate colors and effects across the laptop and compatible peripherals.

Latest connections, the integrated 802.11ac WiFi on the Strix Scar II and Hero II is based on Intel’s latest Wave 2 solution, which is capable of greater than gigabit speeds when connected to compatible routers. Wireless card is hooked up to four antennas. Asus ROG  RangeBoost technology monitors the antennas to determine which ones have the best signal and then switches automatically to ensure that you’re using the best connections. The Strix has Gigabit Ethernet for more secure wired connections.

Plenty of USB ports for peripherals is available, including for VR gear, and one is Type-C for new-gen devices. Onboard storage is split between an M.2 NVMe SDD and a 2.5” SATA. Some has  SATA-based Seagate FireCuda SSHDs that use flash-based cache memory to speed up load times for games. HDMI 2.0 for 4K output at 60Hz, and Mini DisplayPort  for multiple display outputs.

Features Dual speakers driven by SmartAMP technology for immersive and powerful sound. Connect your headsets via 3.5-mm combo jack or via USB.  ROG's Sonic Studio III will help you tune in for different scenarios, including surround sound virtualization for stereo headsets. The new APO injection feature allows to work with USB DACs and headsets.

So what you think? ROG gets everything right for on-the-go gamers so they can practice and conquer local and international eSport arenas. So excited to see these laptops reach Philippine Shore.

Under the hood, ROG Phone makes use of exclusive binned version 2.96GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform Processor selected specifically for its ability to run at faster frequencies and so powerful unmatched performance. Matched with Adreno 630 graphics, 8GB LPDDR4X and 128GB / 512GB UFS 2.1 Storage, for sure it can handle the latest and even graphic intensive games. Go into X Mode and raise the minimum clock speed to keep the CPU on its toes, and confines tasks to the chip’s four fastest cores to ensure maximum performance. To keep things cool, GameCool system makes use of copper heat spreader to improve thermals and 3D vapor chamber to efficiently transfer heat away from the SoC and into the body.

There are side-mounted port to support Gigabit Ethernet over Type-C, plus HDMI and USB. There is also a Type-C port at bottom. Both of the Type-C ports work with standard chargers for convenience and compatibility, but they can do a better job with HyperCharge adapter. Sensors are complete and upgraded for better gameplay and interaction. Fingerprint Sensor is available for personalized security.

For photos, it does have a Dual Rear Camera setup at 12MP standard angle lens  Sony IMX 363 plus 8MP Wide Angle Lens. Front camera is at 8MP for high resolution selfies and video chat.
