Elephone P8000 Quick Impression and Review Specs Price Philippines

Following our quick impression of Elephone S1, we move up to more of mid-ranger unit Elephone P8000.

Elephone P8000 comes in carbon fiber inspired design metallic frame with arc back. It does have a nice feel to it and better handling as it sits comfortably on the contours of your hand. Antenna line runs through the top and bottom of the frame. Similar buttons location like that of S1 with 3.5mm on top; Power / lock button and volume rocker on right side; MicroUSB port with Microphone Hole on the bottom; Fingerprint Sensor at the back. Elephone P8000 has capacitive navigational keys upfront.

Houses a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS Display powered by 1.3GHz Mediatek MT6753 64bit Octa-Core Processor with Mali T720 MP3 GPU. As for Memory and Storage, a 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal storage is present. You can add more storage via MicroSD Card slot. Runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with a few manageable bloatware but at least a cleaner UI. MiraVision is supported to enhance your viewing pleasure. Smooth operation when I handled the device and it scored 38K in Antutu which is higher to some of its competition with similar specs.

Moving on to optics, we tested its 13MP Rear camera with Samsung Samsung 3L2 Sensor and produced good outputs with clarity and accurate colors eve in low light conditions. Although we were a bit disappointed with front camera even at 5MP which produced washout output. Per checking exif, rear camera has an aperture of f/2.0 while front has a f/2.8, you really do need to be in the light to get better selfies. See here:

Focus Test: Left Focused on the Glass While Right Focused on the Background. Colors Pop as you can see.

Selfie Test: Washout but temperature control is on point but with small aperture you really need a light source.
Regular connectivity features is available with P8000 like WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. This is a Dual-Sim Handset and supports LTE data connection. Upon testing the device we discovered USB-OTG is not supported. Hopefully Elephone can activate this feature when they update the phone to Marshmallow as they have promised.

Elephone P8000 main selling point is its huge battery, carrying a whopping 4165mAh which should last you the day (moderate) or half a day of heavy usage. Another selling point is Fingerprint Sensor for a more personal security feature.

If you want more of rugged smartphone with LTE, quality primary camera and long battery life then Elephone P8000 is for you. Such a diversified portfolio Elephone has from budget beauty S1 to Rugged and Heavy Duty P8000. Next on the chopping block P9000.

Price for 7,799 Pesos is due to be on sale on April 18 12nn with Lazada Philippines.
