This new flagship phones seeks to bolster up sales of ailing Blackberry. The popular brand had significantly lost and failed to counter the iPhone and Android frenzy that led to dismal sales and market-share decline and so company cost-cutting and restructuring. Even with the release of Z10, still Blackberry struggles but hopefully the Z30 will change that.
The Z30 design is not new still haunts me of old blackberry with combination of black with silver accents and lining which comes with carbon fiber back. Led Notification Light is also present. It sports a 5 inch 720p HD Super AMOLED Display. 1.7GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm MSM8960T Snapdragon S4 Pro with Adreno 320 GPU coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of Internal storage (expandable) are its internal specs.
Long Term Evolution (LTE) gives it lightning fast data connection and is well supported with the regular WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS. USB-OTG is also supported. For its optics, it packs 8MP with LED flash at the back and 2MP at the front. HD Video recording is supported. Comes with a 2880mAh battery pack.
BB10.2 is both mixed-inspired OS from gesture controls and multiple panes as seen on Meego, Menus from Android and graphical iOS. Still we can't argue that BB has always been a messaging powerhouse though the physical qwerty keyboard is now gone as replace with virtual ones.
Yet overall, BlackBerry Z30 is not competitive when pitted against other flagship and even midrange from notable brands and newer ones. We might see another loss for Blackberry if they continue to offer underwhelming devices. But if you are a BB Lover then this smartphone is for you regardless of what I say.
