Infinix Hot S is more handy smartphone that exudes elegant design in sleek metallic finish. Up front you could see selfie camera, navigation capacitive keys and the 5.2 inch HD 720p IPS Display. Screen size is just right with enough brightness and vibrance for movies, games and social media browsing.

Inside, Infinix Hot S is powered by Mediatek MT6753 Octa-Core Processor with Mali-T720 GPU complimented with 3GB RAM and 16GB Internal Storage. You can expand storage but you need to sacrifice dual sim functionality as Hot S has a hybrid sim microsd slot. Upon first boot up, you get at least 10GB usable storage. With regards to performance, navigating the XOS UI was smoother, responsive and fluid. Though it is a different story when it comes to heavy games as playing NBA 2K16 in High Settings were met with frame drops and lags. It is recommended therefore to use medium to low settings acceptable gameplay for intensive games. It did not have problems playing Asphalt Xtreme.
Runs the latest XOS Chameleon v2.0.0.runs the latest XOS Chameleon v2.0.0 with system management tools, gesture controls and battery modes. Mirror casting is supported to connect to an external display.
As for sensor, it does have full sets from orientation, proximity, light and gyroscope for augmented and virtual reality as well as fingerprint scanner for personal security.
We were disappointed with the 13MP camera at first but Infinix updated the firmware and fixed everything. Now camera is sharp, vibrant with better dynamic range and focus even in low light.

As for the front camera, it delivers great results too.
Hopefully its not hardware and Infinix would just fix the rear camera with software update.
Update! Infinix did made a camera fix for Hot S and now the camera is awesome! Colors are on point, with better dynamic range and low light performance. See Updated Samples!
It does have Manual Mode to give you more creative control. Panorama Mode is present for taking long landscpaes shot and unique Picture in Picture Mode to take Rear and Front Camera at the same time. 1080p video recording is availble.
Has all the basic necessary connectivity like WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS as well as ultra fast LTE for on the go internet. It is a Dual Sim Handset via hybrid sim slot. Like I said previously, if you need more storage then you need to sacrifice one sim to accommodate microSD Slot.
Infinix Hot S carries a 3000mAh battery and supports fast charge. We tested the charger that came with it and charging time 2 and half hours to fully charge the Hot S. Battery life is good though as it manage to last a day and still has more juice left of moderate usage.
Our verdict? Infinix Hot S has good looks, decent performance and endurance in a pocket friendly size. It does not look cheap and offers better and optimize performance with XOS and 3GB RAM. It handles pressure well from games, movies or social media with its long battery life.However one big drawback is the poor outputs from its rear camera. After the update, the rear camera is very very good! If I may suggest lowering price a little to really compete with other brands. So What you think?
