Bluboo S8 Review Budget 18:9 Full View Smartphone Specs Price Philippines

Here is our review of Bluboo S8! Budget 5.7 inch 18:9 Smartphone

Bluboo S8
We are welcomed with a black box labelled with Bluboo and S8 branding. Opening it up, we are presented with the Bluboo S8 unit then an envelope containing manuals, tpu case, and tempered glass. Inside also is also found charger, usb cable but NO headset here although you do get an USB Type-C Adapter to 3.5mm jack.

Bluboo S8 Package
The Bluboo S8 design aesthetics clearly mimics that of samsung latest flagship. Elegant curves, slim profile and good built. It was a surprise when supposed S9 renders were leaked out and turn out to be similar to Bluboo S8. Anyways moving on, at the top lies the hybrid sim/microsd tray while on the either side is found the volume rocker and power button. At the bottom part is the USB-Type C port, speaker and mic. This all is housed in a body made in ZN-Ti Alloy for durability. Back features a CD effect that creates unique design accent.

Bluboo S8 Top and Bottom

Bluboo S8 Sides

The 5.7 inch Full Display at 18:9 HD+ resolution protected with 2.5 Curved gorilla Glass 4 gives wide, rich viewing pleasures that is fit for entertainment and games. It is also brighter and good sunlit legibility.

Bluboo S8
Powering the device is Mediatek MT6750T Octa-Core Processor matched with 3GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage (with at leasst 24GB available for uuser disposal). Antutu Benchmark has a rating of 41445 which is good enough for seemless android experience. We tested NBA 2K18 but we found frame drops at high settings and so it would be advisable medium for heavy games. As for online games, ML, AOV and the runs fine at default settings.

Bluboo S8 Benchmark, Internals, Sensors

Bluboo S8 Camera
As for camera, it features dual rear camera with 13MP Sony IMX135 Exmor f/2.0 aperture RS plus 3MP. Front Camera is at 8MP but is software interpollated. Basic Camera modes and effects are available like Slow-Mo, Timelapse, Panorama as well as Video. For Selfies, there is a FaceCute Feature that adds stickers and beautification. Here are samples:

Sadly, Bluboo fails to use properly the Sony IMX sensor and camera algorhythms are flawed and such rear outputs lacks proper exposure. Front camera takes better photos.

Bluboo S8 Camera UI
Runs on Android 7.0 topped with 360UI that offers gesture controls, Anti-Theft and other management controls. Since it is Mediatek, Miravision technology has been employed.

360 UI
For connectivity, Bluboo S8 covers the regular set from WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. Eventhough it is USB-Type C, USB OTG is NOT Supported. Connection of headset is also via same USB port so can't listen while you charge. Bummer. Sensors are also lacking as gyroscope is absent thereby not supporting Augmented Reality feature and games. Does have Fingerprint sensor but sometimes it fails to recognize so make sure you wipe it clean.

Comes with 3450mAh Battery. Battery life is just good considering its modest specifications that willlast you a day of moderate use but if you are a gamer, better get powerbank for good measure. Charging takes 2 and a half hours.

At a price of 7,499, Bluboo S8 is worth considering for its 18:9 Full View Display, Mediatek MT6750T Processor. However, the majordownside of Bluboo S8 is its camera. Hopefully BluBoo Philippines will do an update to make use of the camera sensor.

Come in Blue and Black color options and is available at Lazada Philippines.

Evolution of Asus Battery King - Zenfone Max Series

THE EVOLUTION OF THE ASUS ZENFONE MAX SERIES

Each year we have witnessed the evolution of ASUS' best-selling smartphone series, the ZenFone Max. Known for long battery life, the ZenFone Max series has always been the best choice for long usage and gaming.

This 2018, the ZenFone Max gets another upgrade, further cementing its dominance as the Battery King. But first, let's return to the past and take a look at all the innovations the ZenFone Max series have brought to us through the years.

ASUS ZENFONE MAX (2015)
See your world with ultimate energy - 5000mAh large battery with powerbank feature via reverse charging.

ZenFone Max’s sleek frame secretes a monster battery — a 5000mAh cell custom-crafted from lithium-polymer to pack the maximum energy into the compact body! Turns into a power bank, allowing you to draw from its incredibly 5000mAh battery to charge other devices.

ASUS ZENFONE 3 SERIES (2016)
Comes with 4100mAh large battery with Powerbank feature plus added Fingerprint scanner.

ZenFone 3 Max’s rear fingerprint sensor is perfectly positioned for the way you hold your phone. It unlocks ZenFone 3 Max in a snap, and also does more. Swipe your fingertip down across the sensor to summon the selfie camera, and then tap with your tip to take a picture: it’s like a second shutter button, right where you need it.

You work all day, and play all night. Does your smartphone keep up? ZenFone 3 will last through the whole work day and long into your playtime. Work hard and play harder — with ZenFone 3 Max always at your side.

ASUS ZENFONE 4 MAX (2017)
With 5000mAh intelligent battery with Powerbank feature, fingerprint scanner and Dual Cameras.

ZenFone 4 Max features an advanced dual-camera system designed to take your mobile photography to new heights. Its 13MP main camera is equipped with wide F2.0 aperture lens to capture clearer photos. The 120° wide-angle camera on ZenFone 4 Max has a 200% larger field of view than standard smartphone cameras, so you can fit more scenery and people in the frame for dramatic photos and videos that capture a true sense of place.

ZenFone 4 Max features a suite of intelligent power management technologies that work in concert to optimize battery life, ensure safety and long-term performance, provide reverse-charging capability, and more. By turning on the double battery lifespan feature, it means your device can fully charge (to 100%) and discharge (to 0%) up to 500 times in a 25°C environment, and the loss of battery capacity will be reduced by half.

Finally, ASUS ZENFONE MAX PLUS
The first ASUS smartphone with 18:9 display, large battery and facial recognition technology.

The ASUS ZenFone Max Plus represents the evolution of the entire ZenFone Max series. We’ve included all the well-loved features of the ZenFone Max series, and incorporated the latest mobile technologies into one device, while keeping the features and affordable price range.
Long battery life with intelligent power management

The ASUS ZenFone Max Plus would not be a Max series smartphone without long battery life; as a result, a large 4130mAh battery powers the heart of the device. Smart power management is handled by ASUS PowerMaster, with features that enable the battery to last twice it’s lifespan, making sure your ZenFone Max Plus will serve you well into the future. The ZenFone Max Plus also comes with ASUS’ Power-Safe Technology, with a 12-point safety-check running in real-time to keep you and the battery safe from harm.

The ZenFone Max Plus’ Full View FHD+ 18:9 display allows for a wider view, while still allowing users with small hands to grip the phone securely. The new display is perfect for web browsing, multi-window, and watching videos.

By using a full view display and an ultraslim bezel, we’ve made the 5.7-inch ZenFone Max Plus as small as most standard 5.2-inch phones. It’s the ultimate ergonomic design that not only lets you see more, but is much less bulky and more comfortable to hold.

Biometric security – Fingerprint unlock and facial recognition technology
Adding a whole new level of security for ZenFone users, the ZenFone Max Plus is also the first smartphone from ASUS to incorporate facial recognition technology, aside from the fingerprint scanner. It’s also one of the only phones in its price range to have facial unlock technology!

To ensure that the ASUS ZenFone Max Plus can only be unlocked by its owner, ASUS has included algorithms for background depth, motion and skin tone detection, and can detect if the phone is being unlocked using a photo by detecting pixel, moiré effects and unnatural reflections.

Facial recognition can be used to unlock your phone, view notifications from the lockscreen without having to unlock the phone.

While not world-firsts, the ZenFone Max Plus is the first to combine all these useful features into an affordable package that makes it the ideal smartphone for those who love to travel or simply not want to charge their phones for long periods.

The ZenFone Max Plus is also available on Home Credit for 6 months on 0% interest.

PHILIPPINES, JANUARY 19, 2018Lenovo, the world’s leading PC manufacturer, announced that it will once again host “Legion of Champions Series II” (LoC) (formerly League of Champions), a major gaming competition in Asia. In collaboration with Intel, the second edition of this gaming battle is expected to bring even more excitement to the regional gaming scene with three new markets joining the championship.
