New Blood Championships: Finding the Next Elite Generation of DOTA 2 Players

Gamer Geeks! This is your time to shine! Play DOTA (Defence of the Ancients)  2 like your future depends on it cause The New Blood seeks to find Next Elite Generation of DOTA 2 Players. If that not enough for you then guess cash is a great incentive as you will have a chance to gain a total prize pool of USD 40,000.00! Other than that, the main event slots to the second season of Galaxy Battles will serve as the ultimate prize for winners of this tournament.

The tournament is developed by two of the most dominant esports companies in South East Asia - Hong Kong-based, Purpose Win Entertainment Limited (PWEL) and Fallout Gaming (FG), the leading South East Asian and Malaysian premium esports company. Both companies share a vision to start building more platforms that will find the next generation of competitive esports athletes.

The South East Asian market for esports is growing at an exponential rate that PWEL’s Project Director, Sky Lim, believes that esports is no longer a niche and is prime and ready for the mainstream.

“The market for South East Asian eSports has been growing rapidly, it is the second largest market in the world,” says Sky Lim. “Many players in the region are qualified to compete with the rest of the world. So we are looking forward to creating a ‘Shining Star’ South East Asian team that will have the ability to take part at the world stage of any esports tournament.”

The New Blood Championships will be the first in a series of amateur gaming tournaments across South East Asia, specifically targeted at providing exposure to aspiring competitive gamers. Strictly for amateur players, all competitive tier one (1) teams and players are banned from competing at the finals.

The Tournament has three stages - Online Country Qualifiers, On-ground Country Finals and The New Blood Championships Main Event. The open-country qualifiers will be held across five countries - Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. There is also an additional “Rest of S.E.A” online qualifier that will cater to other countries in the region. The top sixteen (16) teams from the qualifiers will proceed to Stage 2, the On-ground Country Finals (with the exception of the “Rest of S.E.A” qualifiers who will proceed directly to the New Blood Championships Main Event).

The On-ground Country Finals will be a LAN event focused in high traffic venues to shed more exposure to the finalist from each participating country. The top team from each on-ground country will qualify for the Main Event.

The New Bloods Championships Main Event will happen in Jakarta, Indonesia and will feature one (1) qualifying team from each country, (1) team “Rest of S.E.A” qualifier, and two (2) remaining teams from GamePlan’s DOTA 2 amateur tournament to be hosted by Genysis Esports. One more available slot remains but will be announced at a later date.

The first (1st) and second (2nd) place winners from the New Blood Championships will proceed directly to the Galaxy Battles Season Two (2) Main Event in Manila, Philippines, from January 17th – 21st, 2018. All is not lost as the third (3rd) and fourth (4th) place teams will be able to proceed to the Galaxy Battles Open Qualifiers Top 16 for the fight to win the Open Qualifier’s slot.

For the Philippines, High Grounds Café owner, Eric Redulfin says, “It is time to discover new stars and rising talent and with the launch of the New Bloods Championships that opportunity now presents itself. It is a place where new local talents are born and communities can finally get behind their country’s team.”

The first season of Galaxy Battles took place in China from June 14th – 18th, 2017, at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Centre Stadium to a crowd of 12,000 attendees over the course of seventy two (72) hours. Eight (8) teams squared off for a prize pool of USD150,000 with Team Newbee prevailing as Grand Champions.

“Building platforms that allow aspiring, competitive athletes to further their careers is the ultimate goal. We at Fallout Gaming have always believed in building platforms that allow amateurs to progress further. Forging partnerships with PWEL and High Grounds only helps to accelerate our vision”, shares Adrian Gaffor, Founder and Managing Director of Fallout Gaming, in a concluding statement.

So what you waiting for Geeks! Registration will be up soon so get your Team ready and get to practicing as this tournament might change your life. Be sure to like and follow their Facebook Page > New Blood Championship. Registration starts on July 31, 2017!

Gamma x POKKT Integrated Brand Experience for Marketers and Intelligent Ads for Gamers

Singapore, 26 July 2017 - Gamma, a fast-growing Southeast Asia-based ad selling platform, announced a partnership with POKKT that will bring high quality rewarded video advertisements and spur increased revenue for mobile game developers and publishers in Asia Pacific. This augments Gamma’s inventory with 90% of the top games in the region, both local and global game developers. Gamma’s supply-side platform also connects advertisers to over 5,000 regional publishers, offering premium ad inventory in Southeast Asia. Using a single platform, advertisers can run integrated regional campaigns across online publications, mobile games, social and other digital channels.

According to Newzoo, the Southeast Asia games market is said to double its revenue to US$2.2 billion in 2017, with key markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam accounting for 99% of the total revenue generated. Conversely, Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) predicts that advertising spend in these key markets will hit double-digit growth in 2017 as the consumer demand for mobile, video and social increase in spending.

Game publishers are facing an uphill challenge with in-app purchasing, with the most popular games in app purchases accounting for approximately only 1%-2% of daily active users. Through POKKT’s rewarded video ads solution, gamers will only need to watch a video ad to progress to the next level, benefiting publishers, brands and advertisers at the same time.

Dirk Jacobs, Managing Director, Gamma said: “Southeast Asia’s mobile gaming and advertising industry is seeing massive growth. Our trusted partnership with POKKT will allow us to increase our audience targeting capabilities and accurately connect with gamers. We remain committed to optimising revenue for developers through programmatic targeting and increasing in-app inventory supply to brands, and ensuring that their monetisation goals are achieved.”

Purwa Jain, Senior Vice President, POKKT, said: “We chose Gamma as our partner here in Southeast Asia based on their regional expertise, ability to scale and solid partnerships. Through this collaboration, we are able to grow exposure for our publishers and help marketers and brands in Southeast Asia better target and manage their campaigns efficiently with premium video inventory.”

Gamma previously announced a partnership with MediaMath to increase programmatic ad yield for publishers as well as to provide advertisers access to premium ad space in Asia Pacific.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro Official! Hands On Specs Price Philippines

July 4, 2017 was grand launch of the New Galaxy J7 Pro held at Solaire Resorts and Casino's Grand Ballroom attended by glamorous guests and filled with surprises.

Samsung also revealed Liza Soberano as again the face for Galaxy J7 Pro. Liza gave a stellar dance performance with "Capture the Night" - song made to promote the Galaxy J7 Pro. Bamboo also performed and wowed the crowd with his music. Definitely it was a wonderful night for everyone.

Finally! we got our hands on the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro. It does look sexy with its curvier full metal body accented with antenna lines topped with 2.5D Gorilla Glass. We welcome this new aesthetics as J Series has now been elevated to a more premium class.

Liza Soberano for Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro

Bamboo for Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro

It's back to Super AMOLED Full HD Display which was missing from J Prime Series. Galaxy J7 Pro screen gives rich and viibrant viewing pleasures that best to watch movies, games as well as view your outstanding photos and clips.

Under the hood, it is powered by Samsung own Exynos 7870 Octa-Core Processor clocked at 1.6GHz with Mali-T830 GPU coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage (up to 24GB of Available Storage). You could still expand with dedicated microSD card slot. Antutu Benchmark is below for reference. Just decent class  performance that will enable you to run basic task and applications and heavy games at low-medium settings. However it is by Samsung after all and so expect system to be optimized.

Talking about photos, we move on to Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro optics that has been upgraded to "Capture the Night". This mostly stem with larger aperture for the 13MP Rear and Front Camera at f/1.7 and f/1.9 that gives better low light performance. Upon checking the sensors they used, it is revealed that Galaxy J7 Pro packs a Sony IMX 258 for Rear Camera and Samsung S5K3M3 ISOCELL for Front Camera. (If you should know IMX 258 is used by LG G6) See Samples Below.

Shot taken through Dark Box

Selfie with Galaxy J7 Pro
These Sample will tell you that Galaxy J7 Pro is highly capable night shooter as ISO is kept at low thanks to lower aperture and therefore outputs come out with less grain and more detailed even in low light or concert type of environment. Although we wished they brought AF to the front camera as well as open full manual modes.

As for connectivity, comes with regular WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. NFC is present for tap to pair and for mobile payments. You will have upgraded data connectivity as 4G+ or LTE Advance is supported (Network dependent). This is a Dual Sim Dual Standby handset so you have two networks to access.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro runs on Android Nougat 7.0 with the latest Samsung Experience UI. We are surprised to see flagship features like Always On Display, Secure Folder and Game Modes making its way to J Series. More of Gesture base UI but you will get used to it in time. Per looking on to the sensors, we are please to see almost all - gyro, accelerometer, light, proximity and orientation. Fingerprint sensor is also available for more personalized security.

With 3600mAh battery and optimized internal hardware and software, I am confident that it will have better battery life that could last even the day of heavy to moderate use and even on data.

Overall, Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro is big improvement for J Series line especially in terms of camera, software, sensors and battery. It's internals are just decent but it will be able to handle you need for apps, social and even games. Its camera is also a win even at auto settings, you get great low light captures thanks to its upgraded optics and large aperture. For 15,990 it is best buy from reputable brand in mobile, Samsung.
