New Gad In Town: MiniX Neo X7 / G4 Android for your TV

Here's what I am looking for quite a long time now - Android for TV. Hey don't tell me it has been already sold in the market I beg to disagree with my needs and expectation. Let me discuss... Shall we?

The MiniX Neo X7 is to say the Android TV Box that will cater to your needs (my needs). It houses strong powerful innards with a Quad Core Processor and Mali GPU accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal Storage. Still not impress huh... Take a gander at its arsenal of connectivity Dual-Band Wireless Fidelity (WiFi), RJ-45 Ethernet Jack, Bluetooth and IR Receiver... not yet best part it support Miracast and AirPin for wireless display connectivity and streaming content over the air between devices. How cool is that! Those two functions are quite unique and have yet to wander Philippine Market until now. Just plug it to your TV via HDMI and let the Magic starts. The Best part is that it is just being sold for 5,988.00 Pesos. Really worth it.

Then again some of you might think you wont need those extra features but you just need Android. Well the MiniX Neo G4 is for you then. It is to say a plug-it Android. Just a tad bit downgrade but it will deliver your android goodness with Dual Core, Mali GPU and 1GB RAM under the hood. Connectivity only via WiFi but you could do well connect other devices with OTG.

So there seems that will cover it. But if your interested these babies are available at Villman.

Just In: Cherry Mobile Flare 2.0, Flare 2X, Burst 2.0, and Apollo

Heads up guys! The best selling Cherry mobile Handset of all time is getting pumped up... in the form of Flare 2.0.

The FLARE 2.0 has been officially released! It's just a processor update powered by higher 1.2 Snapdragon 8225Q Quad-Core processor to the Original Flare. The device will be sporting 4" inch WVGA LCD Display which is supposedly improved in quality. Other than that it will have 512 of RAM and same camera features and to be sold at PHP 3,999.00. It is to say shift from Dual Core to Quad Core ng Bayan. So therefore it targets the same people. Then again they should have upgraded the battery at 1500 mAh with Quad-Core, doubt it will last a day without charging - for heavy users.

If the 2.0 did not gain your attention then you may want the Flare 2X. With just additional bucks, at PHP 4,499.00 you get 1GB of RAM and a Camera (rear) upgrade of 8MP which is great but wait a minute like the Flare 2.0 battery backup remain to be the flaw of the Flare line which sadly remains at 1500 mAh. Don't worry since it is most likely to live up to the hype it has created, people will get bright ideas or mod some battery out there and fix this so called weakness.

You might also take a gander at Burst 2.0 and the new Apollo.

The Burst 2.0 sports a bigger 4.5 FWVGA Display powered by Mediatek Quad Core Processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It packs a 5MP Snapper and VGA Front Camera. Notably the device packs 2000 mAh battery. Well it seems like before this be an alternative to Flare 2.0 similar in specs but different. Sold for PHP 4699.00.

The Apollo, the new comer in the group will have a 4.5" inch HD Display and packs 12MP rear and 5MP front snapper Plus 1GB RAM for only 6,999.00! Well seems this will be targeted on selfies. Per box it shows 1800 mah battery but per opening of the handset 2000 mAh. Oh be warn look out for dead pixels and back light bleeding (BLB) when buying the handset. (use pure white and black background to detect such defect).

Cherry Mobile is really giving Quad-Core to the Masses and still delivers decent specs. Battery backup seems to have improved but with regards to quality it is a MUST to CHECK what you BUY! Look for dead pixels, BLB, hardware defects and not so regular software bugs.

So far been seeing the Flare 2.0 and Flare 2X so it just means that both devices live up to the popularity of the Flare line but still people do complain about battery life. Surprisingly, Cherry Mobile Burst 2.0 is getting a bit attention with regards to its performance in gaming especially with 5 Multi-touch points and because of battery life. On one hand, Apollo also shines for having better display, camera and performance.

Per Social Media, Cherry Mobile Kiosk (especially Berlein Mobile) offers Flare 2.0, Flare2X Apollo and Burst.

New Gad In Town: Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Pureview Camera Phone

Philippines it is here is the Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Pureview Camera Phone

It is to say a cross between Lumia 920 and 808 Pureview. Taking the new form and Windows OS of the Lumia and Optical prowess of the latter. A convergence of technologies that brings the Pureview a step forward with new gears and software upgrade.

The device offers best viewing pleasure at 4.5" inch AMOLED Display that delivers crisp, clear, and vibrant colors enhanced with ClearBlack and PureMotion HD+ for optimal brightness and Sunlight readability. Sculpted Gorilla Glass 3 will ensure you solid protection.

In terms of innards, equipped with Dual-Core Snapdragon Krait Processor it performs fair better compared to some other quad-cores. The CPU is accompanied with 2GB RAM that is best for multitasking and ample of internal memory at 32GB plus 7GB skydrive cloud storage. If that's not enough, you will have arsenal of connectivity under your fingertips such as WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC. Share contents and stream them unto networks with DLNA and access fast internet connection with HSPA+ or thru ultra-fast LTE.

Saving the best for last is the main selling point of the Lumia 1020 is its Camera. From the 808 Pureview which is one of the best camera phones in its time even with Symbian on the chopping block, Nokia now has brought the Pureview brand in the new age. With the Lumia 1020 packed with an impressive 41MP plus 1/1.5'' sensor size can give you high quality photos clear cut details and noise levels paired with Xenon flash support for low light conditions. Not just for still photos but also marvelous video at 1080p at 30fps and comes with loseless digital zoom.

With all improvements in hardware, the Pureview line is in good hands in Windows Phone 8 OS (upgradeable to AMBER) parting from Symbian. At least now, people wont worry that their phones will be left out in applications. The soul of this device comes with live tiles as well as nifty features as Glance Screen as well as the Camera Pro App. Additional accessories are also available to provide grip and wireless charging to this handset.

All in all, this is by far a great leap in technology that may as well replace point-and-shoot cameras. With Nokia Mobile being bought by Microsoft makes me look back when 808 Pureview was released and Symbian given an expiration date but still Pureview evolved and hopefully will continue to live in the form of a Microsoft Phone.

Anyways the Nokia Lumia 1020 is now being sold by
